Christmas is almost here.

Christmas is nearly upon us, do you have all of your Christmas shopping done? I don't, with everything that's been going on personally I'm going to have to brave the crazed Christmas shopping madness this weekend to get those last few gifts.

If you're looking for those last few stocking stuffers for the special someone, I have gifts for under 20.00 at my Etsy Store.

Right now till Midnight on 12.15 (because all items will need to ship on the 16th for guaranteed delivery before Christmas). I'm having a 15% off sale. When checking out use code : LASTMINUTEDEALS

STICKERS $4.50 - $7.50

That also means 15% off of all of my Original Artwork & ACEO's.

Also here is a sneak peek at my latest sketch which most likely will be my next painting.

2012 Calendars NOW AVAILABLE!

can't believe this took me over a week to finish!

Decided to re-use my old site name "Twilight Offerings" as a title for this, nothing else I came up with seemed to fit.

Cyber Tuesday

Remember to shop EARLY to avoid delays in shipping!

for Summer.

I keep forgetting to post about this.
Last month (October I think) I commissioned my friend Summer. I absolutely love her work and told her to just surprise me.

You can find more of her wonderful photography and artwork here: http://to-paraphrase.com/

Earlier in the month I was looking at Summer's blog, I'm always amazed at how beautiful her photographs are and one she took of herself epically inspired me.

I started the drawing on the 11th of November and finished the painting around the 23rd (took an entire day to edit the painting video).

I hope you enjoy watching it.

If you'd like to see a better view of the painting go [ HERE ].

I really liked where this went and already working on my next victim *cough* painting... I mean painting. @_@

If you're interested in owning your own custom piece of art such as this please contact me for details.

I'd like to take a moment to Thank all of my fellow Servicemen and Women and remember those who have paid the ultimate price for our Freedoms.

Happy Veteran's Day

I almost forgot about this video till I was updating my etsy listings.

I decided to go with one of their free music tracks because the track I used Warner Music owns. Let me tell you, YouTube's selection of music sucks. But if you watch it NOW (10.02p 11-09-2011) you'll hear the original track.

New Goodies in my Zazzle Store

Yesterday I spent nearly the entire day drawing and inking a filigree design that I wanted to use for this shirt design that's been in my head these past months (maybe even a year now).

You can see the designs in their full glory over at Zazzle (just click the pictures and the link will open in a new window/tab).

Also I've started working on coding my merchandise pages. I have all of the graphics templates set up, now I just need to start making products. =) This might take a little longer than I first thought... I'm hoping to have a good chunk done by next week.

This coming week...

I'll be doing some heavy revamping of a few of my pages in particular my 'prints/merchandise' and 'original art sales' pages. The pages are going to be set up so that you'll see preview images here, but will be directed to buy from my Zazzle Store for prints & other merchandise, and my Etsy Shoppe for Original Artwork. That way I have a bit less html work to do, and more exposure. I'll also be working on getting my first calendar completed for 2012!

But today it's outside to rake leaves before the rain starts on Monday.

WoW Gold Selling Spam Bot BE GONE!

A few years ago I did some world of warcraft fan art and posted them, now some asian gold farming spambot (yes it's coming from somewhere in asia, before they blocked their profile from being viewed the blog associated with the profile was written in some asian language) has been spamming that entry with ads about their gold selling site. So stupid that there's no way to report his profile as being a bot/spammer and the new improved spam filters are not working, I shouldn't have to delete old entries because some stupid bot is spamming them. >.< very frustrating.

Update: Maya found the link to report the blogger acct that's been spamming. THANK YOU! ^_^

Movie Night: The Thing (2011), Due Date & Drive Angry

Yesterday we saw "The Thing", I was really pleased with it. They did a great job keeping with the feel and continuity of the 1982 Thing. (I watched it when we eventually got home). A few things bothered me, that hand held bobbing thing they do with the camera got a bit much for me in one scene, the dialogue wasn't circa 1982 (it was more along the lines of what you hear in today's movies), and the frozen guy they found at the Norweigian Outpost sitting at the radio that had his thoat cut he wasn't exactly the same but I guess if you're not keeping track it's ok. Everything else falls nicely into place to be found by the Americans in the 1982 movie. If you go see it don't leave after the credits start to roll, you'll miss something good.

IMO: Overall, If you're a fan of the 1982 Thing you'll really enjoy this prequel. I'm hoping when it comes out on DVD there will be a ton of extras.

After dinner we rented 'Due Date' and 'Drive Angry'. "Due Date" was great, hilarious and an 'OMG I can't believe they did that' moment. RDJ was excellent and Zach did a great job. I'm so glad that RDj got his crap together, he's such an awesome actor. "Drive Angry'" = Extra Cheese Special, I'm so glad we didn't pay full price to see that in the theater, we only paid $1.00 for the rental. Too much gratuitous T&A for my taste. I can kinda see how they got Nick Cage to be in it. Hey Nick, I have a script for you, you get to drive a bunch of American Muscle cars in it. *shrugs* I think the downfall of Nick Cages career will be that he's in debt till the end of time and is taking any old script they throw his way.

New Artwork: Maddi

Progress Photos:

You can't see it as well in the scan as you can in the photos, there's a much more distinct pink hue in the background.

If you'd like one of your very own, they start at about 100.00 (for 9x12 - Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper).

Birthday Present for Mom...

I've been totally keeping this as a secret till I could give it to her today.

As you can see, I put a good amount of pencil shading in before I actually started painting. When doing a portrait I feel that lightly detailed shading gives the finished painting a lot of great depth.

CECE Final Show [recap]

After 11 years CECE has come to an end. I'm really grateful that I have been part of this event; Over the last few years I have met so many wonderful Artists & Guests. There have been very few shows that I've done where they take care of you the way that Paul took care of us. I will really miss this show.

Over all I had a pretty good show, got to catch up with Bill & Celest, Cyn Narcisi, Jeff Clark and Jake Reuth. A few of my GenCon Regulars (which also happened to be locals) came to the show. Once the group photos have been posted I'll repost them here too.

Artwork for Ed of SciFi Cards, I think it's going to be his promo card for his next show...
5x7 Watercolor, Acrylic & Ink on Arches Hot Press Watercolor Paper.

I will definitely be doing more 'Pin Up' type art in the near future.

Up Next:

Shows: I have no definitive plans on any shows, I will post here if I do land a spot. I'm hoping there's going to be a horror show or two in the next few months. .

Artwork & Commissions: I have several commissions, my MarlaBea Donation & Sketchbook sketches to get done in the next week. Then I'll be working on artwork for a new 'samples' page and booklet. This new direction I believe will be more marketable to the general public, and less specialized as I am now with the Gothic & Fantasy art.

Still Have Sketchbooks!

I still have quite a few sketchbooks, once they are gone I won't be making anymore, I will actually start working on my 2012 sketchbook.

They are only 10.00 each and they come with a quicky little sketch inside.

Sketchbook 'Inspire' 2011

If you've purchased one of my sketchbooks please leave a review in the comments below. Thank you! <3 OR if you'd rather hire me for your own personal original piece of artwork let me know, I only have one commission left to do, then I'll have a clean desk. So get in line before it fills up again!

Sunday, August 14, 2011

I only have about 2 more sketches to do then they'll be shipped out probably Tuesday. Those of you who pre-ordered I'll fire off an email once they've shipped and if your shipping option was priority mail I'll include your tracking number. =)

Flashback Weekend (Saturday ONLY)

This was my first time setting up at a Horror Con; I was testing the waters to see how well my art would sell, and I do believe I've found my niche! Next year I will definitely be doing more Horror Shows! It was a slow start; I believe if Wizard wasn't across the street, it would have been super crazy busy.

I was really pleased that lots of my really dark works like ""Carnivore" & "Bloody Psychodollie" were well recieved, and I sold out of "Chelle de los Muertos".

We got to meet Lance Henriksen (my favorite Actor Bishop, Ed Harley & Frank Black FTW!), and later on he came over to my table and we got to talk about art stuff, it was simply awesome! It's not often I get to talk 'art' with other artists since all of my artist friends or other artists I run into are only at the 'shows'.

A HUGE Thank you goes to Nik for the opportunity to share his table.

I also want to give a shout out to my friend Jim, it's been great seeing you these past few shows! If you haven't been to The Werewolf Cafe, you should definitely go and visit his site.

It has been confirmed I'll be sharing a table with Nik Havert on Saturday for Flashback Weekend! If you missed me at GenCon and you're in the area come out to see me! I still have LOTS of sketchbooks and prints!

Flashback Weekend is at:
The Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare
5440 N. River Road
Rosemont, IL 60018

GenCon INDY 2011

Thank you to everyone that stopped by my booth, you guys made this year full of win!

A HUGE Thank you to Barbara for looking out for us artists on this years new Art Show layout.

Had such a blast, I totally missed my extended artist family (Lydia & David, Laura & Matt, Bluebeard & Liz, Nigel, Amul). It was great seeing & chatting with Larry Elmore and Billy & Heather Tackett, finally getting to meet Tony & Kay Steele.

I have lots of prospects I need to shoot emails off to about the middle of the week. Lots of sketches to do in sketchbooks and mail out by this weekend. Commissions for next week, possibly some exclusive 'game art' to be done before the end of the month.

Also many of my friends that do the Horror Con Circuit told me that I should also look into doing those too. So the next local (Chicago) Horror Con. I find, I'll be trying to get a booth/table space to test the waters.

Sushi Dinner @ Sushi On The Rocks (Saturday)
While their Sushi is really good, the wait is painfully l.o.n.g.
